The sitter in this portrait is erroneously identified as the Biblical Magi Saint Casper of India…

I think this goes without saying, but no man that supposedly lived during the time of Christ sat for a portrait in 1658…

In the Bible, there isn’t a mention of a saint named Casper…

The story of so called three wise men or Magi is found no where in the biblical text…

The garb and paraphernalia also indicate that the association with a “Saint Casper” is incorrect…
