HOW IGALA PREVENTED THE INVASION OF THEIR ANCESTRAL HOME (SOUTHEAST NIGERIA) BY UTHMAN DANFODIO
From 1804 to 1808, Uthman Danfodio and his soldiers were moving from town to town, conquering the towns and imposing their culture and installing a Fulani King as Emir. It happened in far North and even North Central. But when they were coming to Igala land, they were repelled by Igala warriors at far away Koton Karfe. Since they could not enter Igala land which is the link to Enugu or south east Nigeria, they couldn’t enter the Southeast area of Nigeria their first home till the movement ended.
