Are you not surprised that once upon a time an Oba of Benin was called EWEKA?

Are you not surprised that once upon a time an Oba of Benin was called EWEKA?

Are you not surprised that once upon a time an Oba of Benin was called EWEKA? A name the benin’s can’t give meaning to but certainly has meaning in Igbo language with a dedicated road named after it at Onitsha Igbo land?

Have you ever wondered why Benin people use the word “ISEE” a word the Igbos use to indicate an “agreement” during prayer/libations? This is because the land of Igodomigodo was purely owned by Igbos and Esan people, the spirituality of Igodomigodo land was đź’Ż Igbo showing the influence Eze Chima and his Aro descendants had on the land. The footprints are all over the western Igbo territories.

We’re all Igbos before the Oranmiyan invaders came, this is why no matter how had they tried to conquer these Igbo territories aided by the Portuguese guns, the people’s language and culture never changed.

Let me leave you with the saying, that no empire, nation or community loses her language, culture and traditions completely to a visitor.

Ikwerre’s, Ogba, Ekpeye, Ndoki, Egbema, Opobo, Obigbo, Ndoni, Ika, Ukwuani, Aniocha and Igbo-akiri (Igbanke’s) are ancient Igbos uncontestable.

I remain the Ikwerre man from Rumuewhor community, Odegu clan in Emohua LGA Rivers State.
