The origin of identity cris!s in western Igbo (Anioma).

1. Western Region: After independence, Anioma people were carved into western region with Yoruba. The capital of Western region was Ibadan. Anioma people started associating with Yoruba politically more than their eastern Igbo brothers.
2. Mid-Western Region: Due to marginalisati0n by Yoruba, Mid-Western Region was created for Anioma and Benin. The capital of Mid-Western Region was Benin. Anioma people started associating with Benin politically more than their eastern Igbo brothers.
3. Bendel State: During state creation, Bendel State was created for Anioma and Benin. The capital of Bendel State was Benin. Anioma people continued associating with Benin politically more than their eastern Igbo brothers.
4. Delta State: During creation of more states, Delta state was created for Anioma, Urhobo, Itsekiri, Itsoko and Ijaw. Anioma people started associating with those tribes politically more than their eastern Igbo brothers.
5. South South/Niger Delta Region: During creation of geo-political region, Anioma was included in South South region with minority tribes. Anioma people started associating with South South politically more than their eastern Igbo brothers.

South East Region: Niger!a government created South East and called it Igbo region because they want Igbo tribe to be a small tribe. This makes other Igbos outside South East to see themselves as non Igbo.

……..When some prominent men like Ned Nwoko saw the identity cris!s in Anioma due to political division, he decided to propose creation of Anioma State for only Anioma to solve the identity cris!s…….
