I have deliberately gone celibate for sometime in this space.

I have deliberately gone celibate for sometime in this space.

I have deliberately gone celibate for sometime in this space. Not for want of vituperations on the Nigeria project; but a censored retreat from the agglomeration of rot in Nigeria which had daily threatened to undermine my essence. Back home, I threaded where angels in their celestial space dreaded; to speak truth to powers. I paid by being cocooned as a deviant by the callous system and their host and hostesses. Self preservation and their inanity drove me into my present ‘insanity’ of leave of absence and peace of mind. It’s bizarre to be sane in the Nigeria of today where insanity in high places has railroaded the majority in a precarious balance. The currency is a conspicuous reality of ironical blizzard too elementary for even a toddler decifer. You can put the messenger in the gaulag; and not his gauntlets. The victory of falsehood over truth is but temporary and not permanent. Chief Afe Babalola (SAN) is a legal giant well respected both home and abroad. He is now closer to the grave than the gateway of existential continuum because of his God-given robust age. He is an achiever in all ramifications of life. His law chamber has produced 20 SANs and over 300 lawyers. What gargantuan achievement! He is 95 years old. Being a nonagenarian is a divine gift that ordinarily, a sane attainer would not compromise on the altar of politics. The arrest and detention of Dele Farotimi by the debased ‘buy and sell’ Nigeria Police on the spurious and garrulous charges of defamation is not only nonsensical and nauseating, it smacks of the hands of Esau and the voice of Jacob’s Aso Rock abracadabra-bravados. In our obscurant space, we know who is beating this drum of the current macabre dance of the police and the judiciary. Big old man Afe Babalola, sir, with due respect, guide your reputation at this twilight of your hour and tell your dictators and paymasters to free Dele now before it’s too late. This is a wrong era to play the ostrich. This generation is too intellectually electrifying for shenanigans and high tension political symphony. We know that you have all the phenomenonal Nigerian ‘power’. Please dissipate it to liberate truth and your suffering Nigerians. Leave this space a hero BABA; and not a despicable villain.
