The Story of Asaba Kingdom

Asaba is a kingdom in Nigeria. The founder of the kingdom was Obi Chike Edozien Nnebisi. He was born to an Igala prince and a lady from Anambra state, Nigeria 🇳🇬

Legend says that Nnebisi used a magical pot to find his way back to his birthplace. When he arrived, the pot broke, and he exclaimed, “Ahabam!” meaning “I have chosen well.” This name later became “Asaba.”

The city of Asaba has a rich history. It was once the capital of the southern part of Nigeria. Today, it’s a thriving city and the capital of Delta state.

The current king of Asaba, Obi Professor Chike Edozien, is a direct descendant of Nnebisi.
