LISTEN UP, MEN! WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR INTEGRITY FOR MONEY, YOU LOSE EVERYTHING!
LISTEN UP, MEN! WHEN YOU LOSE YOUR INTEGRITY FOR MONEY, YOU LOSE EVERYTHING!
If you want to go far in life, there’s one thing you MUST NEVER play with—your integrity when it comes to other people’s money. I can’t stress this enough. Some men think they can play smart sometimes, but let me tell you: messing with people’s money will leave you struggling for the rest of your life.
Now, before you get defensive and think I’m preaching some “do-gooder” nonsense, hear me out.
Most of your friends and family members don’t refuse to help you because they hate you or want to see you fail. It’s not that.
It’s because, somewhere along the line, you’ve shown them you won’t keep your word regarding money. You’ve proven that when they lend you a helping hand, you’ll either forget to pay back or make excuses or even use the hand to prepare pepper soup. And guess what? No one likes to be lied to.
Your reputation which is how people view you when it comes to handling money—is the most expensive thing you own.
The second you damage that reputation, you’re done!
You can have all the business ideas, all the energy, and all the ambition in the world—but if people don’t trust you with money, you will struggle. No one will want to work with you, no one will want to invest in you, and no one will even consider helping you. You see, success is never a solo journey. You need people to believe in you, and trust is earned, not taken for granted.
Now let’s get real. If you truly love your family, your friends, or anyone in your life, there’s a simple rule: Lend only what you can afford to lose if you don’t trust them well enough.
Let’s be clear—this is not about being selfish. It’s about protecting both your pocket and your relationship. If you lend more than you can afford to lose, you’ll lose both the money and the friendship. There’s no middle ground.
Trust me, I’ve learned the hard way. I’m not ancient, but I’ve been around long enough to experience firsthand how people’s attitude toward handling money that is not theirs shapes their lives.
You have to understand this: your word is everything. It’s more valuable than any dollar amount you can ever handle. If you say you’ll pay back, PAY BACK. If you say you’ll deliver, DELIVER. If you say you’ll take care of it, then DO IT. Simple as that. But if you find out you can’t meet up with the promise due to unforeseen circumstances, let the other person know on time and keep to the next date with all you have. Anything less will cost you more than you can imagine.
And here’s the kicker: You don’t have to be some “perfect angel” to get it right. Life throws curveballs. Things happen. But your level of integrity should never change. When you handle other people’s resources, handle them as you would want YOURS handled. It’s the golden rule that can never be broken. If you want to be trusted, start by being trustworthy.
So, to all the men reading this: It’s time to raise the bar. Stop thinking you’re clever by playing the system. Life isn’t a game. Your reputation? It’s forever.
People make mistakes out of ignorance. Yes, but decide today to apply what I have just told you in this regard. I can tell you this with certainty: if you want to grow—personally, professionally, financially—you need to stay true to your word. Make your word as valuable as gold.
Don’t let money be the thing that tears you down. Let it be the thing that builds you up.
A word is enough for the wise. And if you’re truly wise, you’ll understand the weight of integrity.
