On this day 22nd May 1967 when Yakubu Gowon cuts the Eastern Region out of transmission. Ojukwu can’t broadcast again because our people’s radio won’t speak to hear him. The Eastern General Assembly was still planning on the new Nations declaration with Ojukwu, but Broadcast needs to be done, our people’s radio needs to speak. The Eastern General Assembly was running around.
Chukwu Okike Abiama used Sir Ikemefuna Ofor to get us a Transmitter on 22nd May 1967 and he named it “The Voice Of Okon Okon Ndem; Meaning’ “Come Let’s Go, It Cock Scroll.
