When Did Tiv People arrive in Nigeria & Cameroon?
The Tiv people arrived at the land adjoining Nigeria and Cameroon (Karagbe) in 6,000 BC.
According to The Battle Of Karagbe:The Forbidden History, the Tiv people crossed River Kongo also known as Zaire and arrived at their present location in 6,000BC where they built what the Europeans described as the first Bantu settlement.
They built the first Capital at Garoua in present day Northern Cameroon and temporarily moved the Capital to Jimeta in present day Adamawa state of Nigeria.
The Capital was moved to the Swem Mountain in Akwaya district of Western Cameroon.
For thousands of years, the Capital remained at Swem Mountain until the first European invasion in the late 1400s. For undisclosed reasons, the Capital of the Tiv people was moved to Ibenda/Binda in present day Kwande local government area of Benue State in 1500
The Tiv people are not just one of the oldest ethnic groups in Nigeria and Cameroon, they are the origin of Bantu tribes.
History has it that Bantu tribes migrated from present day Nigeria and Cameroon to Central, Eastern and Southern African regions.
