Since 1960, we’ve danced this same bitter dance
Since 1960, we’ve danced this same bitter dance,
Fed with lies, fooled by sweet political romance.
Criminal politicians with sugar-coated tongues,
Promised heaven, delivered hell for far too long.
But now…
The fog is lifting, sense is dawning,
Millions of weary souls are finally yawning.
We see the scam, the grand deception,
The Nigeria of our dreams needs bold insurrection.
To wrestle power from thieves in agbada,
From terrorist minds and yahoo thieves ,
From fake leaders with no shame or name,
Men whose roots crawl from gutters of blame
This fight no be beans, no be play.
My people, listen:
Omelets don’t come without cracking shells,
Freedom won’t come with whispers and bells.
It takes fire, it takes sweat,
It takes courage they’ll never forget.
In our pain, we rise;
In our suffering, we stand tall.
Because if we no fight now,
We lose it all.
