She returned home and told told Uwa that it’s done. I have kept him. The mother said to Uwa.

Where did you keep him mom? Uwa asked the mother. He will be fine. You should concentrate on this son here instead of the son that you would never get to see again. The mother advised him.

Tears was coming down of Uwa’s eye. He wanted to be a man. But it was difficult for him.

It okay my son. His mother consoled him. His wife was still sleeping when all this was going on.

Is my wife going to be okay? Uwa asked the mother. Of course Uwa. She will be okay.

Uwa never imagine that his wife was cheating on him with the King of Amaudi, he didn’t know that the children were not his.

That same night Princess Olaedo forget her favourite bead at the lake after she had her evening bath.

So she and her personal maiden rushed back to the lake to look for bead.

I told you to always look after my beads Mmeso. The Princess said to her maid.

I’m sorry my Princess. It must have fell off. The maiden said. They went to the lake and started looking for the bead only for them to start hearing a baby crying.

Is that a baby crying? The princess asked the maiden. I don’t know my Princess, it must be the spirit of the lake. The maiden said.

Do the spirits really come out at night? The Princess asked the maiden scared. We have heard the stories my Princess. But we have never experienced it. The maiden replied.

Continue looking for the bead. The Princess said to her maiden.

The cry continued and this time it was even more louder.

I think it’s a baby mmeso. The Princess said to her maiden. My Princess I think we should go back to the palace. The maiden said.

No mmeso. Let’s f0ll0w the cry. The princess said. My princess I think we should go call one male guard to come with us. Mmeso said.

Mmeso don’t let me get angry with you. The Princess said.

The Princess f0ll0wed the cry of the baby and her maiden f0ll0wed her from behind.

She finally saw the baby. You see Mmeso. I told you it was a baby. The Princess said.

My Princess we don’t know for sure. She might be a water goddess. The maiden said.

Go check. The Princess said to her maiden. My Princess I’m scared. The maiden said.

The Princess had to go and touch the baby. After minutes of thinking it through. She finally carried the baby.

You see he is a boy. The Princess said.

What are you going to do with him? The maiden asked. I don’t know Mmeso. The princess replied.

We should keep him here. The maiden said. Who would have left this innocent child here? The Princess asked. Let’s leave the child here. The maiden said.

The Princess looked around. And she finally found the bead they came looking for right behind where the baby låid.

The Princess Picked up the bead. She turned and was about to leave with the maiden. But she changed her mind and carried the baby.

What are you doing my Princess? The maiden asked.

I’m taking him home. He will be my child and I shall call him Abali because I found him at night. The Princess said and he took Abali home.
