Do not kill me. What did I do to you?”

Do not kill me. What did I do to you?”

“Do not kill me. What did I do to you?”

America do not wake up one day and invade a country.

They first make locals dislike and despise their leader through systematic and well coordinated media campaign.

And the moment they succeeded in achieving that, they strike.

Let me use Muammar Qaddafi as example.

Below were a few of his achievements as Libyan leader:

*All newlyweds in Libya received $60,000 Dinar (US$ 50,000 ) by the government to buy their first apartment so to help start up the family.

*Education and medical treatments was free in Libya. Before Gaddafi only 25% of Libyans are literate. During his reign the figure was 83%.

*If Libyans want to take up farming career, they received farm land, a farming house, equipment, seeds and livestock to kick- start their farms – all for free.

*If Libyans couldn’t find the education or medical facilities they need in Libya, the government used funds them to go abroad for it – not only free but they got US $2, 300/mth accommodation and car allowance.

A lot of us including myself were not aware of many things he was doing and getting right in that country but we all knew that he was in power for a very long time, not allowing any form of opposition.

That was what they wanted us to know. That he was abusing human rights.

So when the Arab spring happened, they saw a big opportunity to attack him with collaboration from his own people and Qaddafi was killed in a gutter.

His last words to his captors: Don’t kill me. What did I do to you?

Now ours can not be accused of perpetuating himself in office because he was only sworn-in in 2023 and he can not stay beyond 2031 if he wins another term (and he will, by God’s grace).

But we do have a Muslim/Muslim presidency and so religion is a weapon they feel could be effectively used to paint our leader in bad light to invade our land but unfortunately for them, Nigerians are not buying into that.

The day they see that a lot of Nigerians buy into that, that is the day they will strike.

That is why it is important that we keep showing support to our country and the leader who in two years has shown signs that he is taking us to economic independence and prosperity.
