ON THE RECENT COURT RULING CONCERNING MAZI NNAMDI KANU
ADVICE AND ENCOURAGEMENT FROM REV FR. Prof. OBAYI PAUL MARTINS
ON THE RECENT COURT RULING CONCERNING MAZI NNAMDI KANU
My beloved people of Ngeria, sons and daughters of our land,
In the light of the recent court ruling concerning Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, our brother and freedom agitator, I come to you today not only as a priest of God but also as a lawyer who understands the weight of justice, the burden of truth, and the pain of a people seeking fairness.
First, let us remember that the journey of justice is often long, slow, and painful, but it always bends toward truth. The court may give a ruling that appears heavy or disappointing, but it does not mark the end of hope. In every legal process, there are windows—windows for appeal, windows for review, and windows for divine intervention.
As a people, we must avoid anger, violence, or actions that can worsen the situation. A wounded heart must not speak in a haste but with reflection.
Let us remain calm, vigilant, prayerful, and united.
To my Easterners particularly Igbo people:
Our strength has always been in our peaceful resilience, not in destruction. Stand firm. Hold your faith. Let every action reflect wisdom, not frustration.
To those who believe in the cause of freedom:
Freedom is not achieved in a single day. Every movement in history went through trials before triumph. If God does not consider your striving as genuine, he will not endorse but signs only that which he confirms is in his plan of salvation.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is not forgotten. His voice, his courage, and his sacrifice is domiciled clearly in the subconsciouness of a people whereas to others it may be viewed with a mixture of feelings and misconception. However, let us continue to pray and advocate for a fair and just resolution of the current situation.
To the government and authorities:
Justice delayed is never justice denied. And justice denied anywhere becomes a threat to justice everywhere. I urge ourselves to always make the Rule of Law our template and our watch-word without bias, intimidation or bigotry.
Finally, to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu himself:
Wherever you are, may the God who sees in secret give you heal and protect your life and speak for you. And may he restore your freedom in His due course as he pleases.
My people, let us keep our faith alive.
Let us use wisdom.
Let us remain united.
Let us continue in prayers
The God of heaven has in his palm the clock that controls the universe. Once again I say be calm and vigilantly prayerful. Remain blessed.
