“The issue of the Middle Belt, some people created it to advance their own struggle for BIAFRA

The “Middle Belt” narrative, which has been circulating on social media in recent days, is something some people borrowed from Biafra activists. Their goal is to further destabilize the peace in our North East and North Central regions.

If you pay close attention, you will notice that 90% of those pushing this narrative on social media are from the South East, specifically from the Biafra region. Everyone knows that their past efforts to reclaim Biafra failed, and the federal government successfully suppressed them. Now, they have brought this agenda into our region to cause discord. If you observe this carefully, you will see the truth of what I am saying.

For example, in the Northwest, they already know that no conflict can affect this area apart from the tensions between the Hausa and Fulani. This is the only conflict that could potentially divide the people of that region.

As for the Northeast and North Central, there is no conflict that can deeply trouble these areas except the Middle Belt issue. This is the only conflict capable of creating tension among people in the Northeast, North Central, and Northwest, as well as fueling ethnic and religious disputes.

People from the South East, in their view, do not differentiate among Northerners. Whether you are Muslim or Christian, if you are from the North, it doesn’t matter—they treat everyone the same. Any pastor in the North, regardless of position, is reduced to a regular member if he goes to their region. The same applies in times of conflict—they do not spare anyone; they exploit the situation.

Their main objective is to provoke and attract global attention to conflicts in various regions. They want the world to believe that they are not alone in seeking separation, as if the Middle Belt people also support their Biafra agenda.

If you examine global maps, everyone knows the regions as North, West, South, East, and Central. There is no recognized region called “Middle Belt” except for what these people are trying to impose for their own agenda. With God’s will, they will not succeed.

Our conflict in the North East is known to all, and we are the only ones capable of resolving it without involving any Biafra agitators.

Therefore, what they are doing is merely a scheme. No one knows about it except them, along with some of our fellow Northerners they aim to exploit for ethnic division. But if you look carefully, all of us are indigenous to this region, and no one has the right to push anyone out. Whether we agree or disagree, we must live together, as God intends. Nothing can change that. We must use our wisdom to understand this plot being promoted among us.
