Today we remember Prof. Humphrey Nwosu, the man who conducted Nigeria’s historic June 12, 1993 election, widely regarded as the freest and fairest election in the country’s history. Sadly, that election was later annulled by the military government of Ibrahim Babangida, denying Nigerians the democratic choice they had clearly made.
One year ago today, Prof. Nwosu was laid to rest in his hometown, Ajali in Anambra State. His role in Nigeria’s democratic history will never be forgotten. History will always remember those who stood for truth and those who stood against the will of the people.
May his legacy continue to remind Nigerians of the importance of free, fair, and credible elections. May his soul continue to rest in peace. 🕊️

A powerful and respectful tribute. It beautifully honors Prof. Humphrey Nwosu’s courage and integrity, while also reminding us of the deep significance of that moment in Nigeria’s democratic journey.
His legacy stands as a lasting symbol of truth, fairness, and the will of the people. May his contributions continue to inspire future generations.
