The Berom People of Nigeria 🇳🇬

The Berom people are an indigenous ethnic group living in the Jos Plateau area of Nigeria. They mainly live in Jos South, Jos North, Barkin Ladi, and Riyom.

Language and Culture

The Berom people speak their own language, which is part of the Niger-Congo language family. Their language is not related to Hausa, which is spoken in Northern Nigeria.

The Berom people have a rich and unique culture. They celebrate the Nzem Berom festival every year in March or April. This festival is an important part of their heritage.

Traditions and Beliefs

The Berom people trust in God (Dagwi) for everything. They believe God takes care of them and guides their history. They are one of the original groups in Nigeria that strongly believe in God.
