These two statements can never be true at the same time:

These two statements can never be true at the same time:

These two statements can never be true at the same time:

  1. I was sick with malaria during Aburi negotiations.

2.Ojukwu misrepresented the outcome of the Aburi Accord.

Question: If you were too sick to understand what was agreed upon, then why insist that Ojukwu misrepresented what was agreed upon?

You see eh, you served your masters well and slaughtered your brothers and history won’t change that.

Iran cannot have nuclear weapons. Iran cannot control their territorial waters.
Iran cannot sell their oil. The refrain is the same: if we can’t control them, we destroy them.

If we can’t control Haiti, we destroy Haiti.

If we can’t control Cuba, we destroy Cuba.

If we can’t control the oil fields of Venezuela, we destroy Venezuela.

And if we cannot control the Igbos of Nigeria, we destroy them.

Harold Wilson, the British Prime Minister made it very very explicit: Britain must control natural resources of Nigeria even if that means 500,000 dead Igbos. He was that explicjt.

When oil was discovered in 1957 in Eastern Region, the Whiteman swore that Easterners must never control their oil fields because they must take it like they take other resources from Africa.

So they found a useful errand boy to kill the Igbos, divide their territories, and put their oil fields under control of their loyal proxies.

Aburi was about each region controlling their resources and paying taxes to the center.

Aburi made perfect sense to Gowon, who himself believed that there was no basis for the unity of Nigeria.

When he came back from Aburi, the colonial masters tore up the agreement and convinced him that the East must never control their resources.

Gowon carved up Igbo territories and today, Igbos are in 13 different States. That started with Gowon.

Then Gowon went to war in the interest of Colonial powers to keep Nigeria united under indirect British rule by the North.

Today, some of the largest proven deposits of gas in the world are in present day Imo and Anambra States.

Nigerians met in 2014 under Good Luck Jonathan to agree on true Federalism.

In 2015, the Whiteman engineered his overthrow from Government and put a proxy in place who threw the Confab into the toilet.

Same thing done to Aburi Accord.

At 92, Gowon still doesn’t understand that he was used and dumped and Nigeria remains as divided as ever and on Aburi the Igbos still stand.

MNK is in jail today because he is a proponent and exponent of Aburi.

Until Nigerians get sense, they won’t realize that the 2014 Confab suffered the same fate as Aburi for one reason and one reason only: Colonial Masters don’t want Nigerians controlling their resources whether as states or as regions.

  1. This is a very forceful and emotionally charged piece of political commentary, written with urgency and conviction.

What stands out most is the rhetorical intensity and repetition, which gives the writing a speech-like momentum and a strong sense of outrage. The text moves between historical reference, geopolitical comparison, and personal interpretation, creating a layered narrative of grievance and resistance.
