A battalion of Biafrans–the 1st Battalion in particularly,( A battalion consists of 300-800 soldiers), under the Command of Major Ohanehi shocked a fully UK equipped Brigade of the Nigerian Army at Eha-Amufu, Nsukka sector of Biafraland. ( Note that a brigade consists of 2000-4000 soldiers. Coupled with the superior armoury supplied by the UK, the Biafrans were just no match for the advancing enemy Forces).

Not minding the apparent mismatch, The small number of Biafran troops decimated the Nigerian murderous military. That defeat changed the course of the war, from a police action that was to end in weeks to a full scale war.
