🇳🇬🔥💫 BREAKING: No One Can Remove Us from Ondo Forests; Fulani Have Lived Here for Over 250 Years” — Miyetti Allah President, Bello Abdullahi Bodejo

Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, National President of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, reportedly declared in January 2021 that Fulani herders could not be forced out of Ondo State’s forests following the seven-day quit notice issued by then-Governor Rotimi Akeredolu over rising security concerns.

According to reports from the time, Bodejo maintained that Fulani herders had occupied the forests for more than 250 years and argued that Nigeria’s forest reserves belong to every Nigerian, not to any particular ethnic group.

He was also reported to have made the controversial claim that “all the lands in Nigeria belong to the Fulani,” a statement that sparked widespread criticism from many Nigerians, socio-cultural organisations, and other stakeholders, who insisted that land ownership is governed by the Constitution and Nigeria’s land laws.

The remarks revived the national conversation on grazing rights, access to forest reserves, land ownership, and the growing security concerns associated with criminal activities in some forest areas.
