Many Africans who did their Islamic studies in Arab countries including some Burkinabè, have launched a massive campaign against Captain Traoré. They claim that he is against Islam.

In addition, many “Black Arabs,” such as Mauritanians, Somalis, and Sudanese, have joined the campaign with some saying that he should be “finished” quickly!

This well-known Mauritanian imam or Muslim scholar, shown in the picture below, stated that what Captain Traoré said about Arabs ensl@ving Africans through what is known as the Trans-Saharan sl@ve trade is not true. He claimed that Arabs did not ensl@ve Black Africans. He considers that Captain Traoré is against Islam for saying that Arabs ensl@ved Black Africans. He said that it’s Islam that liberated Black Africans from sl@very! Sadly, many Black African Arabic speakers are supporting his narrative!

The other picture shows a well-known Malian Muslim scholar who said the same thing. He claimed that Captain Traoré is waging a w@r against Arabs and Islam by saying that Arabs enslaved Black Africans before the Trans-Atlantic sl@ve trade.

Algerians and Moroccans are also massively in the campaign!

However, the Arab sl@ve trade, also known as the Trans-Saharan or Red Sea slave trade, is a historical FACT. It lasted for more than 1,300 years and is estimated to have resulted in the ensl@vement of between 6 and 18 million Africans.

It’s sad that some Africans are defending a narrative that denies the existence of the Trans-Saharan sl@ve trade. In his fiery speech two days ago, Captain Traoré repeatedly asked the following question: “Are we (Black people) cursed?” He asked this while speaking about how some Africans continue to strongly support Fr4nce, which ensl@ved Africans and even displayed them in human zoos. One such human zoo, is called Bamboula, in Fr4nce was closed only recently in 1994. It displayed 25 Ivorians in the zoo for the Fr£nch people to go and see and take pictures.

So, I am calling on all Africans who aspire to freedom, to change, and to build a better Africa to strengthen their support for Captain Traoré. We should not allow this minority of brainwashed Africans to prevail. While many Ivorians, particularly supporters of Alassane Ouattara, have aligned themselves with Fr4nce to campaign against Captain Traoré, we now also have many people who studied Islam in Arab countries joining the campaign alongside Fr4nce and those Ivorians!

We should not allow this coalition of enemies of Africa’s freedom to defeat us through their malicious communication campaigns against Captain Traoré. We should not allow this minority of Black Africans suffering from Stockholm syndrome to stand in the way of our pursuit of true freedom.
