🇧🇫 PRESIDENT OF BURKINA FASO HONORS NEW GENERATION OF MILITARY OFFICERS

President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, welcomed the 25th graduating class of the Georges-NAMOANO Military Academy (AMGN) in his hometown of Pô, Nazinon Region, on July 25, 2026. The ceremony brought together families, military leaders, former cadets and distinguished guests to celebrate the country’s newest officers.

The graduating class, named “Lieutenant SAWADOGO Alexandre Bienvenu,” was encouraged to uphold discipline, courage and patriotism. General Kassoum Coulibaly, patron of the promotion, urged the young officers to remain steadfast in defending Burkina Faso’s sovereignty and restoring peace, reminding them that their mission is to serve and protect their nation with determination.

One of the most memorable moments of the event was the academy’s traditional baptism ceremony, where senior officers officially welcomed the new Sub-Lieutenants into the military fraternity through a symbolic initiation that reflects unity, responsibility and the enduring spirit of the armed forces.

The celebration also paid tribute to the legacy of the late Lieutenant Sawadogo Alexandre Bienvenu, whose dedication and sacrifice continue to inspire a new generation of military leaders. His family encouraged the graduates to honor his name through loyalty, professionalism and unwavering service to Burkina Faso.

The ceremony concluded with cultural performances by the Orchestra of the Presidency of Burkina Faso, celebrating national pride and African heritage in an atmosphere of unity and patriotism.
