Several Christian advocacy organizations estimate that more than 52,000 Christians have been killed since 2009 in attacks carried out by Islamist extremist groups and other armed militants. However, researchers and conflict-monitoring organizations use different methodologies and report varying figures, making the exact number a matter of ongoing debate. What is not disputed is that thousands of Christians have been killed, churches have been destroyed, entire communities have been displaced, and countless families continue to suffer.

For believers around the world, this is a call to remember and pray for those enduring persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ. It is also a reminder to stand for religious freedom, support those affected by violence, and seek justice for all innocent victims.
