The Only Thing God Did Not Promise Ishmael But Promised Isaac:

I wish every Christian and Muslim would come across this post to end the long-standing misunderstanding of their individual prophetic positioning in the divine calendar.

Isaac and Ishmael are the sons of Abraham. God told Abraham that Ishmael would become a great nation and that his descendants would multiply across the earth.

Ishmael was blessed by God because of Abraham, even though he was born out of wedlock. His mother was Abraham’s maidservant, Hagar, an Egyptian.
When God blessed Ishmael, He told Abraham that even though Ishmael would be blessed, he would not be the heir — that God’s covenant would be established with Isaac.

Genesis 17:21–22
“And as for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He shall beget twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation. But My covenant I will establish with Isaac, whom Sarah shall bear to you at this set time next year.”

Notice that in blessing, multiplication, and greatness, Ishmael was blessed just like Isaac — but he was not chosen by God as the heir, even though he was Abraham’s firstborn son physically.

The reason is that God had already declared that the son of Sarah, Abraham’s legitimate wife, would inherit Abraham’s blessing.

There is no indication that God changed His mind to make Ishmael the heir apparent. God is not a liar; God regarded Isaac as the promised son. (Please read Galatians 4:22–31.)

WHAT IS THE INHERITANCE OF ABRAHAM?

God made a covenant with Abraham: that the world would come to experience true salvation, and that this salvation would come through Isaac. This is the one thing God did not promise Ishmael.

The spiritual inheritance of Abraham was given not to Ishmael but to Isaac. Ishmael was blessed materially.
So if you are praying against the material blessings of Arab and Muslim people, you are wasting your time. If you are praying that Muslims will not multiply, you are wasting your time. But the salvation of mankind must come through Isaac. That is why, in this view, Muslims and Christians do not worship the same God.

“Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” (John 17:3)

Hagar, Sarah’s maidservant, and her son Ishmael were sent away from the household without an inheritance, because God had chosen Isaac. Ishmael settled in the region of Sinai. (Galatians 4:21–32.)

Ishmael was regarded as the child of a slave woman, while Isaac was regarded as the son of a free woman.

But the Bible says that the children of the slave woman will oppose or persecute the children of the free woman. In this view, the descendants of Ishmael — together with other nations such as Iran and Iraq — stand in opposition to Christianity and Israel, and are seen as the source of movements that persecute the church and the Jewish people.
So the main covenant runs through Isaac. That is why Jesus came through the tribe of Judah, one of the twelve sons of Jacob, Isaac’s grandson.

By adoption, anyone who believes in Christ Jesus becomes a child of Abraham. Not only that — they also become heirs to the blessing of Abraham. (Galatians 3:7.)
“And now that you belong to Christ, you are the true children of Abraham. You are his heirs, and God’s promise to Abraham belongs to you.” (Galatians 3:29)

This is remarkable: even if you are not physically a citizen of Israel, the Bible says that if you have faith, you are a member of the commonwealth of Israel and a child of Abraham. You are not a foreigner but a member of the household of God. (Ephesians 2:12–18.)

So through Isaac, salvation from sin came into the world. Humanity can now experience the one true God. The whole world can be saved from sin.

The Bible says salvation is of the Jews (John 4:23). It is about Abraham. It is about Isaac. It is about Jacob. It is about Judah. It is about David. It is about Jesus. It is about Christianity — the church.

So Muslims and the rest of the world should know that the salvation of humanity comes through Jesus Christ. Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6).

No religion can save you but Jesus Christ.
