Today, Nigeria mourns the passing of a true icon, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, who passed away at the age of 84.
For decades, his powerful voice, remarkable talent, wisdom and unforgettable performances made him a household name and a giant of Nigerian cinema. He did not merely act movies — he helped build an era.
The screen may no longer carry his presence, but his legacy will continue to live through the generations of actors, filmmakers and fans he inspired.

May his soul rest in perfect peace, and may God comfort his wife, Joke Silva, his children, family, colleagues and millions of admirers around the world.
