Oble Ukwaba was a very strong native doctor. A demi god and a fearless and fearful man of his time. Oble lived in an era when power is measured by your ability to control nature.

During the dreàded Nigeria Biafra war Which happened between 1967 – 1970, most people from Enugu Ezike especially the Olido, Amube, Amufie, and all other villages around Onicha Enugu ran to his house for hideout. Not that he was a military personnel but because it was said that once you cross to his compound you are saved.

This is what actually happened. During the war, whenever the Nigerian army were approaching his compound, they would be seeing a mighty river instead of a compound. A river they cannever cross. This was how they took another direction as they advanced towards Nsukka heading to Enugu which was the headquarters of old eastern region.

Oble Ukwaba left his name indelible in the parchment of Enugu Ezike history due to his exceptional powerful control of nature during his time.
