THE RAW TRUTH
THE RAW TRUTH 💔✊💯
Indigenous Igbo people are not just only in five states of Nigeria, but they are in total numbers of 13 states of Nigeria which are Anambra state, Enugu state, Imo state, Abia state, Ebonyi state, Delta state, Rivers State, Bayelsa State, Cross river state, Akwa Ibom state, Edo state, Kogi state and Benue state. I’m not saying that all the Indigenous people in Delta state, Rivers State, Bayelsa State, Cross river state, Akwa Ibom state, Edo state, Kogi state and Benue are indigenous Igbo people, but some of them are indigenous Igbo people. In Anambra state, Imo state, Abia state, Enugu state and Ebonyi state, they are all indigenous Igbo people. In Delta state, indigenous Igbo people are Anịọcha, Ukwuanị/Ndọkwa, Ịka and Oshimili. They are all called Anịọma. They are in 9 Local Government Areas (LGA) which are Aniocha North LGA, Aniocha South LGA, Ika North-East LGA, Ika South LGA, Ndokwa East LGA, Ndokwa West LGA, Oshimili North LGA , Oshimili South and Ukwuanị LGA which are all in northern parts of Delta state. In fact, it's officially in government and law of Delta state that Ukwuanị/Ndọkwa, Anịọcha, Oshimili and Ịka are Igbo and there is five tribes in Delta state which are Urhobo, Itsekiri, Isoko, Ijaw and Igbo (Anịọma) according to government and law of Delta state. In Rivers State, Indigenous Igbo people are: Egbema in Ogba Egbema Ndoni LGA , Eche (Etche) LGA, Omuma LGA, Ndoni in Ogba Egbema Ndoni LGA, Ikwerre in Igweọcha (Port Harcourt) LGA, Igweọcha (Port Harcourt) in Port Harcourt LGA, Obio-akpo LGA, Ikwerre LGA and Emohua LGA; Ekpeye in Ahoada East LGA and Ahoada West LGA, Obigbo LGA , Opobo in Opobo/Nkoro LGA and Ogba in Ogba Egbema Ndoni LGA. Egbema people are from Egbema in today's Imo state while Ndoni people are Igbo people from Ukwuanị in Anịọma Igbo group in today's Delta state.
The original and real Igbo of Ikwere is Ihuruọha not Iwhuruohna or Ikwere, but Ihuruọha was changed and corrupted to Ikwere by the white people especially the British. The original and real Igbo name of Port-Harcourt which is capital of Rivers State is Iguọcha, an Ikwerre dialect of the Igbo word, “Igwe Ọ́chá”. In 1913, Lord Frederick Lugard renamed Igweọcha to Port-Harcourt (Port of Lord Harcourt) with the name of Secretary of State for British colonies, Lord Lewis Vernon Harcourt MP. The main purpose of Port-Harcourt was to export Nigerian natural resources and the coal discovered in Enugu on 1909 to United Kingdom (UK). In Edo state, indigenous Igbo people are: Igbanke (traditionally known as Igboakiri) in Orhionmwon LGA. Igboakiri is their original and real name not Igbanke, but during the Nigerian Bịafran civil war from 1967 to 1970 because of avoiding of Nigerian soldiers to kill them with Igbo in their name and to avoid destroying properties of Igbanke people and Osaigbovo Samuel Ogbemudia in Igbanke during the Nigerian Bịafran civil war from 1967 to 1970, so their name was changed and renamed to Igbanke by Osaigbovo Samuel Ogbemudia, a Nigerian army officer, politician and military governor of the Mid-West State, later renamed Bendel State which is now Edo state and Delta state. There are two early Igbo villages in Igbanke which are Igbonto as first and Ake as second.
The Igbo word, “Igboake” was coined from the names of those two early Igbo villages there. Igbo was brought from Igbonto while Ake was brought from Ake, the two words were joined together and they became Igboake though it was later corrupted to Igbanke. In fact, The mother of that Samuel Osaigbovo Ogbemudia is from Igbanke. Most people do not even know that Late Archbishop Benson Idahosa and his wife are Igbo from Igbanke. A Nigerian musician, Divine Joshua Ikubo popularly known as Rema is from Igbanke.
In Bayelsa State, Indigenous Igbo people are: Osekwenike, Abuetor (Abuetoro) and Eke Okpokiri which are all in Sagbama LGA. They are Igbo people from Ukwuanị of Anịọma Igbo sub-group in today’s Delta state. In Cross River State, Indigenous Igbo people are: Isobo in Obubra LGA. Isobo people are from Ikwo in today's Ebonyi state. Not all people, but some people in Akpoha , Eboronyi, Agarabe, Adadama, Eno-evong, Igbo Imabana, Itigidi and Ntankpo villages in Abi LGA are indigenous Igbo and they are speaking Igbo. Akpoha came from Afikpo in today's Ebonyi state. Even Liyel Imoke, former Cross River State governor and his wife are Igbo from Abi LGA of Cross River State. In Akwa Ibom State, indigenous Igbo people are: Ikot Udo Ika in Ika LGA, Ohaobu Ndoki in Ukanafun LGA and Obuagu in Ini LGA. Ohaobu people are from today's Abia state while Obuagu people are from today's Ebonyi state. In Benue State, Indigenous Igbo people are: Umuezeoka in Oju LGA, Umuezeokaoha in Ado LGA, Oriuzo in Ado LGA, Umuoghara in Ado LGA, and Amaeke in Obi LGA and Amaezekwe in Ado LGA, Ndigwe in Ado LGA and Inikiri in Ado LGA. There are few Indigenous Igbo people in Okpokwu LGA from Ezza (Ezza) and Izi (Izzi) in today's Ebonyi state. Amaezekwe, Ndigwe, Amaeke , Umuezeokaoha, Umuoriuzo and Umuoghara are from Ezaa (Ezza) in present day Ebonyi state and while Inikiri is from Izi (Izzi) in today's Ebonyi state. Apart from the Ezza-speaking Igbo clan, particularly the people of Umuezeokoha with over 300 villages, if you are to calculate the number of all the Igbo-speaking villages in Benue State, they will be over 600 villages. Three of the biggest markets in Benue state are in the indigenous Igbo speaking parts. The markets are Inikiri Ichari, Iddah, and Iduokpe. In Kogi State, indigenous Igbo people are: Akpaya, Ugwuebonyi, Ebokwe, Ozara, Amaeke, Amankpo, Amadiefoha, Amauwanu camp, Amaufulu and Odolu in Igalamela/Odolu LGA, Nwajala, Eke Avurugo, Umuoye and Ubulie-Umueze in Ibaji LGA, Ọnịcha igo in Ofu LGA. Though there is nothing like south south in this world both in geography and standard geopolitical zone, it's either south east, south west or south central. Not all parts, but some parts of this so-called south south are south east while some parts of Kogi state and Benue state in north central are south east. All these indigenous Igbo people in some parts of Delta state, Rivers state, Bayelsa State, Cross river state, Akwa Ibom state, Edo state in so-called south south and all these indigenous Igbo people in some parts of Kogi state and Benue state in north central should be south east, but Nigerian government politically divided and separated them away inorder to maltreat, marginalise and reduce south east (Igbo land).
